Three Cheers for the Red, White and Blue!!!

Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

Hope your day has been full of yummy food, family and friends.

We got the sweetest fabric in this month which celebrates

important moments in which this country established essential rights

for our citizens.  Lindell immediately envisioned, and then beautifully

executed these panels from some of the vignettes in the fabric.

 And of course, today is the perfect day to share them.

Here at FMS summer has started with a bang!

Summer sewing camp students are sewing up a storm.

Fashion Design students had a lot of fun painting fabric designs, 

choosing fabrics for their projects, and then learning

to sew fashion accessories.

Classes and camps will be continuing throughout

the summer.  And we are putting together our Fall class and

workshop schedule which will be sent out soon.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Penguin. . .

I know, you're thinkin' :"it's only June for cripey sake!"

BUT ...it's also a great time to think about those little

(or big) projects you plan to make for holiday gifts.

Groovy "kool-aid" colors!  Make a sundress, beach top...or a shirt

 or tie for your Dad to reminisce his Grateful Dead days.

"Wish Bones" from Timeless Treasures...just because...

we all could use a bit of "wishful" thinking.  Right?  

Would make a cool apron or kitchen curtains??

Lots of elegant new trimmings are arriving in Home Decorating.

Trims give that "je ne sais quoi" to your decorating projects.

 

Shades of gray and yellow...modern and sophisticated

For something more vibrant, I like these "Monet-esque"
prints.  They have a predominately green palette, with splashes
of pink/red, teal and mauve.  Very fresh!

L-O-V-E this tote Jennifer made with one of our

cotton laminates.  They are so easy to make and yet look

a bit more snazzy than totes made from cotton.

"Osteology" from Michael Miller.  Supergroove!

Anna Maria Horner's fabrics are my fave, so naturally I adore

this new line of Renaissance Ribbons designed by AMH.

They are so fresh and summery.  Make cool belts, headbands,

embellish cushions, tote bags, lampshades...

Use your imagination!

Speaking of Anna Maria Horner...

I can not wait until her new collection "Field Study"

comes in.  LOVE IT!!!

Blues are predominant in this year's

 collection, with complements of orange/red/grey/greens.
